Go to the Edgefield Co., SC Equity Court records concerning Andrew Lee's family. [Andrew was the man who owned Lee's Ferry on the Saluda River between Newberry & Edgefield Counties.] There are SEVERAL cases in the Edge. Court of Equity, and they are often complicated. See Roll 558 (online) for starters. Also see Andrew Lee's 1795 will in Edge. Co. Will Bk. A, pp. 93-95. The John Lee who died in 1829 (the husband of Eleanor) was an underaged son of Andrew Lee's when he wrote his LWT in 1795. Most of Andrew's children were underaged in 1795 with the possible exception of his daughter Hannah Lee Patrick who had already married. The best way to verify this information is to check all the Edge. Co., SC Equity Court records concerning this Lee family.
