Mr. Donald "Don" Gilpin, 64, of Seymour passed away at his residence Saturday, November 10, 2012.

Born August 22, 1948 in California, he was the son of the late Eugene Gilpin. His mother Priscilla (Mills) Brown and stepfather Ray Brown survive.

He married Tomalene Kay Mikel in Frankfort, KY and she survives.

Don was a veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Valeo Sylvania. Don was a member of American Legion Post 89, and enjoyed NASCAR Racing, Harley Davidson, camping and had a great love of animals.

Besides his wife, mother and stepfather, he is survived by his children Cheyenne (Paul Sullivan) Gilpin, Tammy (Rob) Loyd, stepchildren Kim (Brian) Cox, Gary Weller, grandchildren Jonathan Gilpin, Laura Turner, step grandchildren Jeremiah Silence, Stacey Silence, Cassondra Weller, Zachary Weller, Lainey Weller, Matt Cox, Jessica Loyd, 6 step great grandchildren, half brothers Gary Brown, Mike Brown, Bradley Gilpin, and sister Alma Crockett.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Thursday, November 15, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gary Dyer officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
