Arlene was born in Fond du Lac on August 16, 1923 the daughter of the late Arno and Emma (Koebel) Reinecke. She moved to the Plymouth area and attended the Betsy Ross Grade School and Plymouth High School.
After graduation she worked at Lakeshore Marty and Borden's. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. On November 10, 1951 she married Lawrence Kapellen in the Rectory of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
The couple made their home on the family farm in the Town of Plymouth where they raised their family. Arlene loved her family very much and enjoyed babysitting for many years. She also enjoyed knitting, puzzles, playing cards, flowers, reading, game shows, and playing board games with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years Lawrence, 5 children; Sandra Kapellen of Sheboygan, David (Lori) Kapellen of St. Cloud, Mary Kapellen and fiancée Rick Stoelb of Sheboygan, Judy Adomavich and special friend David Castillo of Sheboygan, and Debra (Richard) Christel of St. Nazianz, 8 grandchildren; Joy (Larry) Bartlett of Hilbert, Lee (Amanda) Kapellen of Sheboygan Falls, Megan Kapellen of St. Cloud, Justin, Michelle, and Kelsey Adomavich of Sheboygan, and Logan and Greyson Christel of St. Nazianz, 3 great grandchildren; Candice, Alyssa, and Britney Bartlett of Hilbert, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law; Betty (Merlin) Jung of Kiel, Clarice Matzdorf of Plymouth, and Dorothy Turk of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Kenny, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM on Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth with the Rev. Thomas Burton, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at 10 AM on Saturday in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Friday from 4 PM until the time of Service. Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family.
