Chico Record, Wednesday Morning, June 24, 1914, pg 4 col 4: Former Butte Man Killed in Willitts. E.J. Roe, formerly of Paradise and later for some years residing in Durham, was accidentally killed near Willitts, Mendocino county, Friday evening, June 19.

Roe is a son of Mrs. M.V. Roe and a brother of Mrs. Walter Brown, both of Paradise. He had a great many friends in Paradise and Durham.

The funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Paradise Thursday afternoon, June 25, at 2 o'clock. Details of the accident were not received.
