Peyton Randolph Wise, II

Peyton R. Wise II died peacefully at his home in Baltimore on Sunday, November 4. Born in Buffalo, New York, Peyton was raised in Menlo Park, California and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1953. He received Master's degrees in physics and international relations from Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University, and also attended the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. As a Naval officer, he served on several ships including the battleship Missouri and USS Sterett. He served in Washington D.C., San Diego, CA., Japan and Italy.
On retiring from the Navy with the rank of Captain in 1976, Peyton began a banking career. He joined the First National Bank of MD in 1982 and returned to Maryland, where he and his wife Charlas would spend the next three decades.
Peyton is survived by Charlas Elizabeth Williams Wise, his wife of 52 years, and their four children Elizabeth, Peyton, John and Charles, and five grandchildren, as well as by his brother John Wise. A Memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Glyndon, at 11:00 on Monday, November 12th.
