Leonard served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and retired as a machinist after 41 years with Ohio Crankshaft.
He was the beloved husband of Frances C. (nee Vaughan); loving father of Leonard W., Lorene, Kevin, and David (Laura) Balinski; grandfather of Amy and Stacey; great-grandfather of Anthony and Robert; dear uncle of many.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Friends will be received at Johnson-Romito, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 19 E. Main St. (on the square), Hudson, Ohio (330-650-4181), Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. Burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 6034 S. Locust St., Peninsula, Ohio 44264, or the Valley Fire and Rescue.
