Doris was born April 16, 1920 in Granville to the late Oscar and Katie (Miller) Fiedler. On May 24, 1942 she married Carl D. Ackerman who passed away on January 2, 2000.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Myles Fiedler. She is survived by a son, David (Judy) Ackerman of Gibsonia; one brother Kenneth Fiedler and one sister, Eleanor Bruch, of Granville; and two grandsons, Collin and Duncan Ackerman, of Gibsonia, Pa.
Doris was a graduate of Hopkins Township High School, class of 1936, and a 1941 graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Home Economics. While living in Olympia, Wa, she was a volunteer at Olympia Food Bank. She was a member of the Gibsonia Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Putnam County Historical Society.
Attending the services from this area were Eleanor Bruch and Ronald Bruch. Ron served as a pall bearer for his aunt.
