Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Lanphear, 38, a former Sioux City resident who died Wednesday morning at a hospital in Des Moines after five years' illness, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose cathedral in Des Moines. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery, Des Moines.
The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the Hamilton funeral home, Des Moines.
Mrs. Lanphear was born at Concord, Neb., and had also lived in Long Beach, Cal.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry and Ronald Lanphear of Sioux City; a daughter, Alberta Lanphear of Sioux City; seven brothers, Richard Nichols of Louisville, Ky., Walter of Riverside, Cal., Dale and Harold of Long Beach, Cal., Merle of Kentucky, Jerry of Oregon City, Ore., and Archie of Bremerton, Wash., and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Lenninger of Sioux City, Mrs. Rachel Boelter and Mrs. Mary McElwain of Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Leona Magner of Lake City, Ia.

Helen Nichols was the daughter of Allen and Katherine Zais Nichols of Concord, Nebraska; two sisters died in infancy. She was married to Albert William Lanphear of Cedar County, Nebraska; they lived at Sioux City, Iowa. After they divorced, Helen and the children moved to California. They returned to Iowa several months before her death from cancer.
