The Chico Enterprise, Chico, CA, Saturday, August 10, 1940: "Mildred March, Chico Pioneer, Taken by Death. Mildred Ada March, a resident of Chico and Butte county for over 60 years, died just before noon today at her home on Hemlock street. She was born December 13, 1859, in Arkansas and came to California with her family on one of the first transcontinental trains. On May 6, 1880, in Paradise at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Adams, she was united in marriage to Edwin W. March. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last May and were known to be the oldest married couple then living together in Butte county.

"Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, R.S. March of Chico; J.E. March of Marysville; and Earl March of Denver; eight grand children, Murial Schroeder of Westwood; Howard March of Portola; Hubert March of Santa Monica; Donald March of Chico; Mary Ellen March of Denver; Mrs. Jean Eddy; Clark and Frederick Wolfert of New York; two great grandchildren, Edward Schroeder of Westwood and Beverley March of Los Angeles.

"Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Black and Johnson with Rev. Harris Pillsbury of Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian church officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Paradise cemetery."
