Beulah F. Adelgren, 85, Prairie Mission Retirement Village, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, there.
She was born Feb. 20, 1915, in rural Neosho County, the daughter of Alec and Anna Badger Basler. She grew up and attended school in the Chanute and Erie areas, and was an Erie High School graduate.
She lived in Cape Girardeau, Mo., from 1937-42, and in the Kansas City, Mo., and Fairway areas until 1972. She moved to Galesburg in 1972 and lived their until entering the retirement village in 1998.
She worked several years as a cashier at a Kansas City grocery store, and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mission Hills. She later became a member of Galesburg United Methodist Church.
She married Albert Adelgren in Chanute on Sept. 5, 1937, and he survives.
She also is survived by a son, Paul of Marion, N.C.; a daughter, Olga Ann Smith of North Wales, Pa.; two brothers, Loren Basler of Bartlesville, Okla., and Dennis Basler of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Neva Havely of Blanco, N.M., and Roberta Yarnell of Erie; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Galesburg church, with the Rev. Tim McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Galesburg. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons.
