Vallie Ruth Sadler Gaw, age 85, of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Gaw was born in Silver Point, TN on March 31, 1927, daughter of the late Clara Ann (Sutton) and Sam Edgar Sadler. She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God. She was co-owner of Willow Tree Gulf for over 25 years with her husband, Billy Howard Gaw. She had also worked with Acme Boot Factory and as a waitress in a local cafe. She was an avid reader and loved working with her flowers. She cherished her friends and especially her family, providing Christmas for her "little" sisters and brothers. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend.

She is survived by:
Sons: William Gregory Gaw and David Howard Gaw, both of Cookeville;
Sisters: Lucille Sadler Farron of Cookeville; Gale Sadler Garrett & husband Roy of Kentucky; Judy Sadler Stewart of Michigan.
Brothers: Teddy Sadler & wife Debbie of Arkansas and Charles Sadler of Michigan;
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Lillian Sadler Helms, Romaine Sadler Haney and Joan Sadler Charles and brothers Douglas Sadler, Devon Sadler and Jerry Sadler.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Smith & Pastor Theo Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7-9 pm, on Monday from 6-9 pm and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
