Mrs. M. A. Easterday died at her home on South Thayer Street, Monday evening at 8:30 o'clock. She had been sick for some time....She was aged 70 years, 7 months and 3 days. The funeral will be held at the U. B. church, Wednesday at 2:20 p.m., Rev. Showley of Rochester, officiating...view the remains...at the house from 11 to 1:30....Interment at Oak Hill.

Mary Ann Magner was the daughter of Henry and Janett (Bovard) Magner; a sister to Catharine, Hannah and Isaiah.
She married John Swisher March 19, 1855 at Crawford, Ohio. They lived at Vernon, Crawford, Ohio in the 1860 census with daughter Charity - 4 yrs. and son, William - 2 yrs. In the 1870 census, Mary with children, Charity J. - 14 yrs., William - 11 yrs. and Rebecca C. - 7 yrs. lived at Vernon, Ohio.
The 1880 census shows Mary Easterday and children, William Swisher - 21 yrs. and Rebecca 17 yrs., living with Jacob Easterday at Vernon, Ohio. A niece, Lettie Cylia Smith, 1 year old lived with the family. (Lettie was the daughter of Hannah and David Smith; her mother was a sister of Mary Ann. Hannah died in May of 1879.)
The 1900 census shows Mary Easterday at Plymouth City, Marshall, Indiana - widowed, mother of 5 children, 1 living; her niece, Lettie Cylia Smith lived with her.
