MILITARY RITES SET SATURDAY
Military graveside services for S/Sgt. Leonard D. Harrison, 22, Salt Lake flyer who was killed while serving with the U.S. air forces in Europe, will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in Wasatch Lawn Memorial park by the American Legion, Mervyn S. Bennion post.
Born Sept. 9, 1922, in Salt Lake City, he was a son of S/Sgt Harrison Moroni Duval and Sarah E. Hansen Harrison. He was graduated from West high school in 1939.
He entered the armed forces Dec. 12, 1942, and trained at various air bases throughout the United States. He went overseas in April, 1944, joined the U.S. Eighth air force in England as a B-17 waist gunner and was killed at Cherbourg, France, Aug. 8, 1944. He was awarded two air medals, one with oak leaf clusters and one with four.
S/Sgt. Harrison was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his parents.
Friends may call at 1445 S. State Friday form 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
