He entered the Army Air force on January 18, 1943, training at Las Vegas, Nevada, Shepard Field, Amarillo, Texas, and Kearney, Nebraska. He went overseas on January 15, 1944 serving with the 393rd Bomb Group (H), 360th Bomb Squad in England. He participated in bombing missions to Pas de Calais, Boulogne; Berlin, Frankfurt, Poland, France's Channel Coast, Atlantic West Wall, and the Reich. He was killed in action on June 12, 1944 at Cambrai, France. His awards include Air Medal, 3 Clusters, DFC and Purple Heart.
