Sebastian served as a Staff Sergeant & Ball Turret Gunner on B-17F "Beautiful Baby" #42-30314, 353th Bomber Squadron, 301st Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on August 23, 1941, prior to the war, at Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a molder and also as Single, without dependents.

B-17F #42-30314 took off, with a crew of 9, on a bombing mission over air fields around Marseille, France. They were hit by ground anti-aircraft fire and ended up crashing near Marseille during the war. " 6 " of the crew perished and " 3 " became POW's of the German Army.

Sebastian was Killed In Action" near Marseille, France in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Service # 39163353

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on March 28, 1952.

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldiers & sailors were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
