LEON D. JEFFERS MEMORIAL RITE WILL BE FRIDAY--
Reburial for S/Sgt Leon D. Jeffers will be at 2 pm Friday at Smith & Kernke chapel. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with special military services. Sgt Jeffers was killed December 1, 1943 over the coast of France. He was a gunner in the air corps (US Army Air Forces). A graduate of Paden High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman. He was 22. His father was the late Boots Jeters, Paden, one-time peace officer of Ofuskee County. His mother also is dead. Suvivors include three sisters, Mrs Lena Stuart, 532 Showalter, Midwest City, Mrs George Routes, Okmulgee, and Mrs Charles Gray, Richmond, CA; and two brothers, Burt Jeffers, 2718? S. Phillips, and Calvin V. Jeffers, Okmulgee.
