Fairfield Township Aviator Injured
Mrs. Richard McCoy, of Fairfield Twp., has received word that her son, First Lieut, Ronald McCoy, was slightly wounded in action in the European Area, It was learned today Lieut. McCoy, who was graduated from Ligonier high school with the class of 1941, is with the U. S. Army Air Forces and is stationed in England. Mrs. McCoy had received word earlier that Lieut. McCoy had met his brother, Sgt. Larry McCoy, in England recently. He had not seen his brother for more than a year. Sgt McCoy is also with the Air Corps.

Services To Be Held Here Saturday For Lt. Ronald McCoy
Full honors befitting another Ligonier Valley youth who gave his life during World War II will be accorded First Lieutenant Ronald Graham McCoy, at funeral services which will be held from the West Fairfield Presbyterian Church at West Fairfield, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Thayer and Rev. D. Alan Martens will officiate and burial will follow in the Fort Palmer cemetery.
Ligonier Post No. 734, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Post No. 267 of the American Legion, together with the Ligonier National Guard, will have charge of the military services in memory of the young hero who lost his life in the performance of his duty, May 20, 1943, while on a bombing raid over St. Nazaire, France. At the same time Memorial services will be held for his brother, Larry D. McCoy, also of the Air Force, who was killed July 29, 1943 while on a mission over Europe. His body was never found. Larry McCoy enlisted June 21, 1942.
Lt. Ronald McCoy was buried in France where his body rested until decision of his parents to bring the remains home for burial here. The body will arrive in Ligonier this evening and will be taken in charge by the Sibel Funeral Home which will take it to the home of his parents where it will remain until time for the funeral Saturday.
The deceased, who entered the service March 12, 1911, was born in Ligonier valley, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick McCoy, Bolivar R.D. 1. Besides his parents he is survived by one brother, William Jack McCoy of Bolivar R.D. 1. The deceased boy's mother was the former Sarah Graham of Bolivar R.D.
