Sergeant(Pilot) 561615 Perry, RAF, died 14th June 1940, age 29. Sergeant Perry was pilot of a Fairy Battle aircraft which attacked pontoon bridges over the river Meuse. The aircraft was subjected to heavy flak and Sergeant Perry was severely wounded in the thigh and stomach but able to fly the aircraft back to the vicinity of the airfield where was able to crash land. He was evacuated back to England where he died of his wounds. He was awarded the DFM.
