Son of Mrs. Dessie May Schoenen who resided in Inglewood, California.

George served as a Second Lieutenant & Co-Pilot on B-17G "Miss Ana Bortion" #43-37941, 849th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 17, 1943 at Buckley Field, Denver, Colorado. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.

George was "Killed In Action" in a mid-air collision with B-17 #43-38184 over France during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
