Adolph served as a Staff Sergeant on B-24H "Twin Tails" #42-52259, 742nd Bomber Squadron, 455th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on October 7, 1942 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Single, without dependents.

Adolph was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed in France during the war.

He was awarded a Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and a Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
