Flying in a B-24 that took off from Shipdham assigned target Seine Bridges near Creil, France. Hit by flak in the flight deck during the bomb run. Caught fire and went into a steep dive, exploded and crashed 1949hrs at La Ferme Megret, 550 yards south of Creil 7 KIA 4 POW. He was serving as the right wing gunner.
