Ewald Huebscher Jr., born 1924, in Schaffhausen Switzerland immigrated to the United States, joining his father Ewald senior (who had arrived in 1928), in 1934. He is listed as "age 10" arriving at the port of New York aboard the ship Bremen, out of the port of Bremen, Germany. He, and his father and mother Anny, who were both naturalized American Citizens, resided on Madison Street, at Queens, New York, his father's occupation baker, in the 1940 Federal Census.

A Navigator aboard a B-17 – serial number 42-30711, nicknamed "Fertile Turtle Myrtle" (MACR report number 2253); a mid-air collision caused his death on January 29, 1944. The plane crashed at Westende, Belgium, and final interment was made at Margraten in Grave C 12 32.

2nd LT Ewald Huebscher, Jr., service number 690431, of the 407th Bomber Squadron, 92nd Bomb group, late of Hudson, New Jersey was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medals.
