FORMER RESIDENT KILLED IN ACTION OVER FRANCE
Sgt. Victor T. Spivey, Jr., 21, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor T. Spivey of Siloam Springs, formerly of Springdale, was killed in action over France, according to word received last week by his parents from the War Department.
After attending Springdale public schools he entered John Brown University in Siloam Springs, where in May, 1943, he entered service.
Sergeant Spivey was gunner on a B-26, having gone overseas in January.
He trained at Camp Maxey, Texas; Pullman, Wash.; Santa Ana, Calif., Denver, Colo., Fort Meyers, Fla., Shreveport, La., and Savannah, Ga.
In addition to his parents he is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Robert W. Jackson and Miss Arlene Spivey of Yorktown, Va., Mrs. Barrett S. Duff, and Petty Officer Grace Lee Spivey of the WAVES, Hunter College, New York.
