Reburial serices for T-Sgt. Henry G. Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Morris, Sr., 3018 Culver, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sparkman-Brand Chapel, 2115 Ross. Military graveside services will follow at Restland Memorial Park with the Rev. Luther Holcomb officiating.
Sergeant Morris served in the Eighth Air Force, based in England, as a turret gunner assigned to a B-17 crew He was fatally wounded June 22, 1944 on his sixteenth combat mission. He received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart, both posthumously.
The young airman was born January 26, 1918 at Terrell, Kaufman County and moved to Dallas at the age of twelve. He was graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was employed by the First National Bank before entering the service in April 1942.
Survivors include his parents, a son Henry Morris, Jr.; two brothers, R. C. Morris, Jr., and Edwin E. Morris; and three sisters, Mrs. Mrs. R. L. Womack, Mrs. E. U. Young, and Mrs. David Hefner, all of Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Fort Wilson, Logan Curtright, Gene Wilson, Frank Peace, Billie Peace, and Frank Mivelaz.
