Everett W. Andrews was the son of Carl E. Andrews and Anna E. King. The family moved from Mississippi to Arkansas in 1920 and he completed his education at Cypert and Marvell High Schools. Afterwards he was employed with the Thompson Drug Company.
Everett enlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard in May, 1937. On 7/5/1940 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was sent to Maxwell Field, Alabama, on 7/8/1940, for training and was commissioned as a Liaison Pilot for the Field Artillery. Everett also completed training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Chanute Field, Illinois and Pittsburg, Kansas before being shipped overseas to England in May 1944. He took part in the invasion of France (Normandy) and in the Battle of Le Hayde de Puits. He was killed in action at St. Malo, France, in an air crash.
