Geneva Isabella Grey, age 84, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, with Pastor Tonna Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids, where the family will be present.

Geneva was born March 2, 1921 to Charlie and Emma (Risvold) Jacobson. She spent her early years in her parents' home in the Sioux Rapids community, receiving her education from the Sioux Rapids Community School where she graduated from high school. Geneva then attended beauty college in Sioux City, Iowa for a year and practiced as a licensed beautician for the next 20 years before she retired in the late 1970s.

On September 2, 1939, Geneva married James Bascome Stone. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Allan. She later married Keith Grey on December 4, 1949.

Geneva was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, where she also belonged to the Ladies Aid. Geneva enjoyed being a member of a bowling team for a number of years and she also liked to travel. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother, caring aunt and a valued friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Allan and wife Cheryl Stone of Catoosa, Oklahoma; grandson Tim Beisly of Clarita, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Jayden Beisly and Raven Beisly, both of Pryor, Oklahoma; nephews Charlie and wife Bonnie Jacobson of Mankato, Minnesota and Tom and wife Pamela Jacobson of Sioux Rapids; niece Janice Trebesch of Linn Grove, Iowa; great-niece Erica Jacobson and John French of Spirit Lake, Iowa; great-nephews Matt and Mike Jacobson of Sioux Rapids; sister-in-law Meree Jacobson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; friend and companion Edward Phipps of Sioux Rapids; as well as other relatives and friends.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Grey on April 21, 1978; her mother, Emma Jacobson on March 25, 1978 and her father, Charlie Jacobson on March 8, 1947; one brother, Floyd Jacobson; a grandson, James Stone on June 2, 2002; and an infant brother, Allen Bernard Jacobson on December 13, 1926.
